NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Diocesan School Old Boys’ Association Limited (“DSOBA” or “DSOBA Ltd.”) is to be held at 8/F., the Chinese Club, The Chinese Club Building, 22 Connaught Road, Hong Kong on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. for the following purposes:
1) To receive and consider the Report of the General Committee.
2) To receive and consider the Income and Expenditure Account and the Balance Sheet of DSOBA Ltd. for the year ended December 31 2010 and the Auditor’s Report.
3) To elect six (6) Members to fill the vacated offices of the General Committee.
The following General Committee Members are retiring:-
a) * S.A.L. Rahman b) * Daniel Wan c) * Kasim Fattedad
c) * Darwin Liu d) * Jose Cheng e) * Richard Lai
Nomination of a member to fill any one of the vacated offices of the General Committee must be by way of the prescribed Nomination Form duly completed and returned to the General Committee (DSOBA, 131 Argyle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon) no later than 12:00 p.m. on April 7, 2011. One Nomination Form must be used for each nominee.
Note: * Retiring members standing for re-election.
4) To appoint an Auditor for the coming year.
Any member of the DSOBA is entitled to attend and vote at the AGM or appoint a proxy to attend and vote in his stead.
Forms of Proxy will be sent to you together with a list of General Committee member nominees on or before April 28, 2011. The Forms of Proxy must be completed and returned to the DSOBA office at 131 Argyle Street, Mongkok, Kowloon no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 9, 2011. Completed forms of Proxy may be sent by facsimile to the DSOBA Office (Fax: 2761 0793) no later than 12:00 p.m. on May 12, 2011. Original hard copy of the Proxy must be received by DSOBA Ltd. before the time for holding the meeting i.e. before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the meeting venue.

Speaker: Reverend Samson Fan(Class of 1991) is the present General Secretary of the Diocese of Western Kowloon, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, Diocesan Boys’ School Committee Member and Acting Dean of the All Saints’ Cathedral. Reverend Samson has been a Christian Writer and has become the Winner of the Christopher Tang Christian Literature Award 2010.

The DSOBA General Committee announces the resignation of Mr. Siu Cheuk Ming Maurice (Class of ’89) as a member of our committee in order to take care of personal matters. Mr. Siu’s resignation became effective on 14th December, 2010 and – from that day on – ceases to be a representative of DSOBA.
Meanwhile, we are happy to announce that Mr. John Low (Class of ’82) will backfill Mr. Siu’s vacancy. Mr. Low’s appointment officially commenced on 1st February, 2011.
The Prez Talk
DSOBA is proud to announce Desmond Yip, our current President (Class of ’82), to be our first guest speaker of the Dinner Talk series in 2011.
Desmond has been a DSOBA member since 1990 and served on the General Committee in various capacities over the last 10 years.
DSOBA has witnessed a number of new developments in recent years including the movie premiere, dragonboat racing and – most notably – the establishment of the DSOBA Charitable Foundation. What better way to learn more about the vision behind these initiatives than to hear it directly from the President’s mouth. It is highly recommended that you book your seat early as we are expecting a big turnout for this event.
