Gala Premiere To Be Hosted by DSOBA  - In Celebration of the 140th Anniversary of DBS

I am extremely excited to announce that the first ever Charity Gala Premiere organized by DSOBA is now rescheduled to 8:30 pm Saturday, 27th February, 2010 at The Grand, Elements, 2/F., 1 Austin Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The movie to be shown is directed by our very own old boy Alex Law Kai Yui (’71), award-winning director behind many classic movies, to name but a few 秋天的童話, 宋家皇朝and玻璃 之城.

This time round, Alex has brought to us a very special creation, with Simon Yam Tat-wah and Sandra Ng Kwan-yu in the leading roles, a film about the laughter and tears of a poor family living in Hong Kong in the late 1960’s. As if to commemorate the 140th Anniversary of DBS, the movie’s backdrop is our mother school, and Desmond, the eldest son of the family in the movie, attended DBS.

Movie Name      - Echoes of the Rainbow

電影名稱         - 歲月神偷

Date                 - 27-Feb-2010

Venue              - The Grand Elements

Dinner Talk with Patrick Choy (Class of 62)
Motorola is generally regarded as the most successful investment in the first 25 years of China economic reform. In the Dinner talk of 28th October, Patrick Choy Kwok Hung ( Class of 62) will share with us the secret of how Motorola China turned a US$24 million corporation into a US$4.5 billion investment in a short lapse of 13 years.

In July 2003, Patrick retired from Motorola as its Corporate Vice President to start his business. Currently Patrick also serves as directors of several listed companies as well as a consultant to a number of Fortune 500 corporations. To recognize his contributions since 2003, the Chinese government appointed Patrick as a member of the Chinese People Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) the Upper House of the Chinese Parliament . Patrick is the first multi- national executive to be appointed as a CPPCC member. Bridge and stamp collecting are his  main hobbies.  Patrick is the Vice Chairman of the International Mind Sports Association and the World Bridge Federation. Patrick is also  a multi gold medalist of world stamp championship.

We are extremely privileged to have Patrick amongst us to gain his invaluable thoughts and experience.

Please RSVP with Amy or Sonia at 2713 5268  to book your spot early.
